Guidelines for Consideration

Purpose:
The CSI Atlanta Chapter Foundation provides an annual scholarship to qualified students who are pursuing a post-secondary education in the field of architecture, building science, construction-related engineering disciplines, interior design, or other construction-related, nationally accredited Bachelor’s Degree programs. The CSI Atlanta Chapter Foundation awards this scholarship to encourage and assist students majoring in these chosen fields of study so that they may, in turn, continue to further the goals and exemplify the ideals and mission of the Construction Specifications Institute, which is to advance building information management and education of project teams to improve facility performance.

Terms:
Scholarship(s) are for the current academic year 2026-2027. The number and quantity of scholarships to be awarded will be based on the number and relative qualifications of applicants, and availability of funds. The Board of Directors reserves the right to reject any or all applications for any reason.

Eligibility Requirements:
1. Minimum grade point average of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
2. A high school senior accepted to Georgia college, freshman or sophomore in college enrolled to study architecture, building science, construction-related engineering discipline, interior design, operations management, project management, construction technology, construction management, supply chain management, drafting, manufacturing engineering – don’t see your field of study listed here even though it’s construction/building science related? Selection Criteria and Documents Required:

  1. Scholarship application
  2. Transcript or other grade verification
  3. Proof of acceptance to a university or technical college (high school seniors only)
  4. 1000-word essay that includes
        • Career objectives
        • Experiences that have contributed to your interest in the built environment
        • Extra-curricular activities, interests, and community involvement
  5. Reference letter
  6. Resume

*Acceptable letter of recommendation sources include guidance counselor or academic advisor, teacher or professor, co-op or internship advisor, or similar.

Application Deadlines to Be Aware of:

November 1st, 2025 – Applications Available

March 31, 2026 – Applications Due – Must be Postmarked no later than this 3/31/26 or submitted through the website portal by midnight on this date.

April 2026 – Scholarship review committee meets mid-month and selects winners

April 20th, 2026 – Notifications delivered via email to each scholarship recipient(s)

May 4th, 2026 – Recognition of Scholarship Recipients at CSI Meeting

June/July, 2026 – Funds distributed to schools for benefit of scholarship winner.

 

How to Submit:

  1. Complete all required fields on the application or apply online
  2. Provide a copy of your official high school/college transcripts
  3. Copy of acceptance letter (if applicable *high school seniors only)
  4. Provide a reference letter from either a guidance counselor, academic advisor, teacher, professor, co-op, internship advisor, or similar.
  5. Essay describing your interest and path to pursuing a degree in the built environment
  6. Copy of current resume
  7. Submit your application and associated documents no later than March 31st, 2026 through the online portal or postmarked by this date.

Please upload the following on the portal with your application or include with your mailed application:
       * transcript
       * essay (1000 words or less)
       * college acceptance letter (high school seniors)
       * resume
       * reference letter from professor, employer, teacher, guidance counselor, former employer, or professional organization within the A/E/C community.
